Why you need a GQ subscription

Since October last year I have been the proud owner of a subscription to GQ magazine, something that I really recommend to everyone. Seeing a copy in a shop at £3.99 might make you think that it adds up to a lot when you subscribe  however I got a years worth for only £30 and they do offers like these all the time, often with some sort of free gift.

You need a subscription, not because you need a guide on how to buy over-priced designer clothes (which isn't what its about I promise, just ignore all the ads) but because it simply makes for a good read. The greatest thing about GQ is that it really covers all aspects of life, cars, music, sports, films, girls, health, menswear and so on; as well as having some really engaging articles, both in depth interviews with celebrates and real hard-hitting journalism such as this piece on child soldiers. It also has some really great supplements that come free and everyone enjoys reading it. Often I've gone to read it only to find it in the hands of my Dad, or my girlfriend.

GQ should never be used as rulebook on how to live, merely something with a few good ideas; it gives you a wider view of the world. Despite all the technology available its easy to get stuck in the immediate happenings around you, sometimes its nice to switch off.
